The Crypto-Capers Series is an fun and educational series that can be used in classrooms. Each book is filled with historical and/or science related topics that can make good discussion material for the classroom. This series is also great for reading comprehension. The key to this classroom contest is that every child in the class must write a paragraph for the mystery. At the beginning the teacher should discuss setting, the characters, their names, etc. with the students. The length of the mystery doesn’t matter; it can be as long as you want it to be. Think of a striking title that would catch the reader’s attention. Pick as many characters as you would like, limit this to three or four main characters. Pick a setting, this could be a classroom, your town or maybe another city, state or country. Create a rough draft. Make sure you proofread. Then create a final draft. If the school would like to have an in school contest between classrooms, a date will be agreed upon between the teachers and myself. If this is a contest competing with other schools, then the contest due date will be January 1rst, 2009.
Submit to me your final draft by sending it to me at P.O. Box 144
