***December 1rst***We had a great day at the Author Charity Event. We received lots of donations and was able to donate 50+ books to the YWCA shelter as well as many other items that the shelter needs. Thank you so much to everyone who came to the signing and supported us and the YWCA. Here is a picture of my fellow authors Brandy Lanae'and Julie McGowen, one of the Directors along with Tanya Rak  (who help run the shelter) and myself (Renee Hand). We are handing the Directors gifts. Barnes and Noble of Flint Michigan donated a gift card to the shelter and The Double Take Salon (located in Argentine/Linden they offer a variety of services including hair styling, manicures and pedicures, as well as massages. They are also reasonably priced and they do a great job.) The Double Take Salon is offering the shelter their services to give the women of the shelter hair cuts and styling.  What great people!!!! We are so happy with the turn out. Again, thank you for your support.

We will be at the Lansing Expo in February and will also be supporting the YWCA over there.

Safehouse Wish List

 The Safehouse is currently undergoing renovations in the common areas such as the hallways and television lounge. A local congregation has arranged to provide both the labor and funding to paint and to replace and refurbish flooring and doors. We are currently in need of donations that will assist us in purchasing new furniture and other things for this area, once it has been restored.  We are in need of the following items:

  • Commercial Furniture (Sofa, Chairs)

  • Entertainment Center
  • Television
  • Framed Artwork
  • Rugs
  • DVD Player
  • Dishwasher (for kitchen)
  • $90.00 towards donation to purchase carpet for bedrooms. ($90.00×10 Bedrooms = $900.00)
